Daisuke Matsuzaka cheered his team to victory in Game 6. Now the Japanese star gets a chance to send the Sox to the World Series.

We go back to Nov. 14 when the Red Sox outbid the Mets, Yankees, and Rangers for the right to negotiate with Daisuke Matsuzaka.

Thirty-two regular-season and two postseason starts later, John W. Henry gets to see why he opened his wallet for the Japanese righthander.

Game 7 of the American League Championship Series is tonight and Dice-K gets a chance to redeem himself after two lackluster postseason starts. It's the biggest moment in this young man's career.

He will have 37,000-plus fans hanging on his every pitch, cheering every out. Dice-K's been on the mound in big situations before, including a three-game span in the Summer Koshien high school tournament in which he won a 254-pitch, 17-inning game, came on in relief in the second, and fired a no-hitter in the third. Just two years ago he was on the mound for the deciding game when Japan beat Cuba, 10-6, to win the World Baseball Classic.

"I can't make a simple comparison to those other games," Matsuzaka last night on his way out the door after Boston dispatched Cleveland, 12-2, in Game 6. "But I just hope that I can pitch the same way as I did in those other opportunities."

對於第七戰的評論:
This is it folks, is there anything better than a Game 7. Sox have done a tremendous job behind their relentless offense who got to carmona early with JD the biggest swing of the game with the granny. I was PO'd when we loaded the bases and got 2 outs and with JD coming up, I was resigned to carmona escaping without giving any run. Who knew, Feel very happy for JD to finally come through in clutch.

The game was over after only 3 innings with a 10-2 score. Schilling settled down after the first 3 innings of a bit shaky innings. The key was Hafner who looks lost at the plate in the 3rd inning if he had gotten on Victor Martinez who is hitting 0.700 vs Schill would have come up with bases loaded.

One more encouraging thing about tonight's game, that there were 9 RBI's from the 6 through 9 hitters and we need to keep it going for game 7

Game 7 Keys:

Pitching:

$ 102 Million investment is going to get the nod in Game 7. Granted he has not got out of 5 innings in the 2 playoff starts, but I have a fell that he would pitch a decent game and give us a chance. With game 7 , all hands are on deck and if he is shaky a bit, I expect Beckett, Lester/wakefield to be on deck to pitch. Dice-K's biggest game of his MLB career so far and it has been well documented that he has always stepped up in big games like the WBC final, olympics, but nothing like a Game 7 vs one of the best hitters in baseball

Offense:

I don't expect our offense to falter again vs Westbrook, who has average stuff but doesn't walk a lot of batters, FWIW, He lost his last road game at Yankee stadium and we should be able to score runs vs Westbrook. 1 through 9 we need to have a good approach vs Westbrook based on the scouting reports on him and needs to get clutch hits like we did and with all the Fenway Park Game 7 energy tomorrow, I am sure that would rattle the opposing pitcher like it happened to Carmona tonight.
